This policy explains what Nooks Owl collects, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account: your email address (only used to sign in; never shown to others).

Profile: nickname, birth year (only used to check you're 18 or over), city, a line about you, languages, interests, profile picture and cover image.

What you share: topics, likes, comments, chat messages, voice notes, hoots and call requests.

Calls: who called whom, when, and for how long, plus ratings you give. We don't record or store call audio.

Device: a push notification token so we can tell you about calls and messages.

Ads: Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and usage information to show and measure ads.

How we use it

To run the app: show your profile and topics, deliver messages, connect calls and send notifications.

To keep people safe: review reports, enforce our terms and stop abuse.

To manage call minutes and rewarded ads.

We don't sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Other users see your profile, topics, comments and the messages you send them. They never see your email.

Service providers that run parts of the app for us: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage, hosted in the EU), Agora (connects voice calls), Expo, Apple and Google (push notifications) and Google AdMob (ads).

Authorities, if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, topics, comments, messages, voice notes and call history are deleted. Reports about abuse may be kept longer when needed for safety.

Your choices

Edit your profile and photos in the app, switch off “Open to calls”, block people, and turn off notifications in your phone's settings.

Delete your account in Profile → Delete account.

On iPhone you can stop apps tracking you for ads in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Age

Nooks Owl is only for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

We'll update this page when things change and tell you in the app about important changes.
